For most people, there's not much that needs to be said about a Wal bass that they wouldn't already know about these legendary instruments, but in case you've never encountered one - allow me to introduce an all-original 1981 Wal Mark I Bass.

Wal Basses have been held in esteem since their inception, being used by bassists such as Paul McCartney, Geddy Lee, Mick Karn, and a big long list of others!

This example has been well looked after, with almost no flaws to be seen.

The fretboard and neck are in immaculate condition, along with the headstock and hardware.

The only flaws on this bass happen to be some very minor scratches and finish ageing/rubthrough (pictured) on the body.

It was also manufactured as a fretless bass for it's original owner who was looking for the right instrument to take it's place in his collection, and after 40 years of ownership, decided to sell it to a customer of ours, who again has decided to sell it!

It currently has Rotosound flatwound strings fitted for classic feel and tone. 

This 'Mk I' bass in particular is 41 years old, sporting a plain headstock.

It features a Mahogany Core body with stained Flamed Maple facings, along with a 6-piece Maple/Rosewood neck and a Rosewood fretboard.

The electronics are another feather in this bass' figurative cap.

The setup of the electrics consists of 2 humbuckers with 8 coils in each - giving each string complete hum-cancellation.

The preamp is also Wal's own design which is a hand-wired active circuit board attached to 4 potentiometers - 1 x Master Volume, 1 x pickup selector, 1 x Bridge Tone/Filter Sweep, and 1 x Neck Tone/Filter Sweep.

It comes with the original Wal Custom 'fluffy' case that is a rarity in its own right, having been preserved so well with the bass.
