Sandberg are famous for handcrafting bespoke instruments in Braunscchweig, Germany, and the small but mighty company celebrated their 35th anniversary in 2021, with founder Holger Stonjek still at the helm. They specialise in high-end bass guitars, with quality that rivals anything available on the market and more recently they have also become players in the 6-string electric market.

This particular California II features a Sandberg P-style pickup, and MM-style Humbucker pickup config, giving souped up, punchy and full classic tones courtesy of the pairing.

It also features Sandberg 2 Band EQ Preamp, capable of being switched between passive and active at the player's convenience.

This bass' neck is made from Canadian Hardrock Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard, and its body is made from lightweight Alder that has been soft aged, giving the perfect played-in feel that is sought after in vintage instruments.
