Purchased a Cobra blue Ultra HSS Fender Stratocaster here this week. I had managed to track down the specific model... and colour I wanted, trouble was I live in London and the guitar was at Jimmy Egypt's. I spoke with Evie and their guitar tech Evan, he have me excellent information about the guitar and assisted me through this somewhat unusual remote purchase. The guitar arrived well packaged, absolutely spotless, really well set up and is a pleasure to play vs my existing Mexican Strat. Put my strat plus in for full refretting and new pots. This guitar is over 20 years old and when the work was completed... it was setup and better than the American original. The guitar feels and plays better than when it was new. If you need any work on any guitar then Jimmy is the man to see. First class service.read more

I recently put two of my guitars in for set up and upgrade work with Jimmy and couldn't be more delighted with the... results. Early 90s Gibson SG was in much need of some tlc to bring her back to her best and some hardware replacements. Back to top form now. Most impressively my Epiphone Sheraton from the Samick factory is now like a different guitar. The fallaway on the high frets and the Seymour Duncan in the bridge have changed the feel and the usability of the guitar no end. Without exaggeration it is now on the same page as a decent 335, delighted. I haven't used Jimmy for any guitar work for a while due to not playing live so much in recent years but he is still the go-to guitar man in Glasgow. Thanks again! Andyread more

Provided Jimmy Egypt & Sons with a number of guitars, some of which required setup/string changes and I had them refret... an EC Stratocaster which had been played to death. Strat was returned to me and it plays like new, in fact it plays better than it ever has in the many years I have owned the instrument. Couldnt rate the work highly enough!read more

Excellent repair job back in April on a very fine acoustic I bought second-hand (elsewhere, mail order) which was... perfect... except for buzzes etc high up the neck caused by rising 'tongue' of fingerboard. Painstaking and highly-skilled repair work, and guitar restored to total health. Real craftsmanship and attention to detail, for which many thanks. Intended to wait a couple of weeks to be 100% sure repair had worked - and it had, and how - but then forgot. Anyway - a guitar repair man and guitar dealer you can totally trust. I'm selling a couple of PRS SEs and couldn't find the truss rod cover or back plate screws anywhere. Walked in, and... despite not stocking either brand, he managed to off the top of his head give me ALL the right screws for two guitars for a fiver inside five minutes. They all fit. I had a troublesome intonation problem with a Martin 000-28EC and it was repaired recently at Jimmy Egypt's. The work... that was done transformed the way the guitar feels, plays and sounds - it has never been better and I appreciate the craftsmanship and effort involved and also the care that was obviously taken with it while it was in for repair.
