Glasgow City Our New Branch and Strung Out Guitars - End of an Era!
6 September 2024
It seems like only yesterday that Louise and Paula opened up Strung Out Guitars in Glasgow's Merchant City. Just recently they have decided to step away from the business and have offered Jimmy Egypt and Sons the opportunity to take over the reins and continue in the running of a guitar sales and repair business in the musical heart of the city. This is an unexpected but exciting opportunity for us and we consider it to be an absolute privelege to be asked to step in and carry on the sterling work which Louise, Paula and their team have been performing over the last 2 decades here at KIng Street. We wish them every success and enjoyment in their future endeavours. |
It's going to take around a month or so for us to open the new shop as we have decided to reimagine the space at King Street and give the place a makeover. This will take some time but we have already made inroads to design and renovate the space. Once opened, new and old customers can enjoy a convivial and friendly environment as was celebrated and enjoyed under the ownership of Louise, Paula and their staff. We will of course strive to continue the high level of luthiery and instrument repair work that existing customers have come to appreciate and expect. |
There will be a few surprises and along with our knowledgeable, friendly and helpful attitude we will, for the first time be introducing some amazing guitar brands into Glasgow City Centre. World class guitar brands such as Furch and Maybach will be on show along with Warwick and Sandberg basses and guitars from Yamaha, Rickenbacker, Guild and everything from Tanglewood to Takamine. It's not a massive space but in the best tradition of Jimmy Egypt & Sons you will walk in to a Tardis like experience ( Hi Doctor Who fans) where the modest space will be bursting to the seams and up to the rafters in a dazzling display of amazing new and used ( we don't say pre-loved) guitars . We intend to provide a "classy" environment with a real friendly, traditional "guitar shop vibe" that customers and visitors to our main branch on Great Western Road in the West End of Glasgow currently experience. So please be patient... normal and expanded service will resume as soon as possible! |
An artist's impression of what the new shop front at King's Court may look like using our existing imagery and branding. See you soon...and yes,...of course there will be a party! |
